Cold Therapy
A simple way to cool your Hug at home.
Cold therapy can provide cooling comfort for inflammation, swelling, headaches, and areas of the body that feel tender or irritated. Keep your Hug in the freezer so it’s always ready when you need it.
How to Cool Your Hug
- Place the gel pack in the freezer as flat and even as possible.
- Leave the gel pack in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
- Place the gel pack inside The Hug Cover before applying it to your body.
- Apply for up to 20 minutes at a time.
- Allow 45–60 minutes between applications if repeating.
- Store your Hug in the freezer when not in use so it is always ready when needed.
Important Things to Know
The Hug should always be used with The Hug Cover or over clothing and should never be applied directly to the skin.
The Hug Cover can remain on the gel pack while it is stored in the freezer if preferred.
Cold sensitivity varies from person to person and can change when you are experiencing pain, injury, illness, or inflammation.
If your skin becomes uncomfortable, numb, excessively cold, or irritated, remove The Hug and allow your skin to return to normal temperature before reapplying.
For safety reasons, we recommend using cold therapy for no more than 20 minutes at a time.
The gel pack should remain flexible when frozen. If the gel pack appears damaged or is leaking, discontinue use immediately.
